Caitlin Allen

DIRECTOR OF ADVOCACY

Hey! I'm Caitlin - the Advocacy Director of Cor-a. I joined the team in October of 2020, and my mission is to give a platform to those who are ready to share their survival testimony, and to help educate the greater population on the realities of sexual assault.

I have a Bachelor’s degree in biology from Penn State, but through life’s funny tricks, I’ve repeatedly found my way to non-profit community work. My own experiences with depression and sexual assault compelled me to help others through the things I had to struggle through alone. During the day, I work as a crisis worker for my county’s suicide hotline, and here at Cor-a, I support survivors as they take control of the narrative around their trauma and offer support and understanding from someone who has been in their shoes. Eventually, I want to get my Master’s in social work to provide further support to survivors and meet their needs. I want to empower survivors to take control of their lives, pursue their own path to justice, and help them rebuild their dignity, in whatever ways feel most authentic to them.
