Leticia’s Story

When I was 15, I went with my best friend on her Christmas family vacation. That’s how I met her uncle who was literally twice my age. He hinted that he liked me during the vacation but after he dropped me off once the vacation was over, I knew he did because he came back and secretly dropped off a rose for me. My grandma found out and called him threatening to call the cops if he continued to talk to me. So he bought me a secret phone on his plan and that’s when things got serious.

We were in a full-blown “relationship” because he convinced me age was just a number and he loved me even though I was so young because I was so mature.

In the end, my best friend found out and stopped talking to me. I always thought it was my fault but as I have gotten older I realized how wrong that was of him to groom me and take advantage of me at such a young age. And it never was my fault.
